Our wine is not made in the cellar but in the vineyard. The secrets of nature cannot be explained.
Masters
In Istria, vineyard masters filter and dose the chromaticism of what is present, but not measurable: terroir.
Three positions
In this dosage, CUJ wines were created, Istrian wines from three different locations: red earth: Vela Boška and Baština right next to the sea; gray soil: Santa Lucia with its mineral flysch; black soil: with fertile and humus black soil... 3 locations of a total of 6 hectares.
The CUJ wine is the sum of the thoughts of the vineyard master.
Tradition
The name Kraljevic - CUJ is based on the family tradition of grape, wine and olive oil production since the 15th century. Kraljevic as the name of the family, and CUJ in honor of the grandfather who planted and nurtured the current vineyards. CUJ was his nickname because he always said according to our dialect: CUJ, Cuj da ti recen (hear, let me tell you).
In 2006, a new cellar and oil mill were built in Farnažine near Umag, creating the conditions for the expansion of production and markets in Croatia and beyond.
Technology
The latest technology and equipment enable oenologist and owner Danijel Kraljevic to turn his ideas and knowledge about wine into modern products, which are recognized by lovers of a good drop but also of the traditional original flavors of autochthonous varieties (malvasia, muscat and teran). It is precisely these varieties that are a challenge and a challenge for him with each new harvest.
